What will we cover this year?

1st 6 weeks: Early Cultures, Explorations and Colonization

2nd 6 weeks: Colonial Life & Road to Independence

3rd 6 weeks: Revolution, Constitution, and Rights

4th 6 weeks: The Young Republic

5th 6 weeks: Westward Expansion & Slavery

6th 6 weeks: Civil War and Reconstruction

What determines a student’s grade?

Six Weeks Test -15%- Provided by Austin ISD.

Major Grades -35% - Exams, Quizzes, Major Projects, Essays,

Minor Grades -39% - Daily Grades, workbook, class work

Homework- 11%

Can my child re-do any work?

Re-Teach/Re-test

Re-teaching and Re-testing is available to all students. In the event of a less than mastery grade students may redo homework, retake test and quizzes to earn up to an 70%. I will allow two days for missing or failing homework, one week for Quizzes, Test and Exams. In many cases this will require after school time by appointment, arranged with the teacher.

How can I keep up work my child's assignments and homework?

I keep a web page that has weekly in class assignments, lecture notes, study helps and homework assignments.
